Champion City Comic-Con this Saturday!

Here’s an update on the Champion City Comic-Con from showrunner Bill Gladman. Yes, we will be at CCCC, set up with a bunch of our newly processed back-issues and our famously low prices (if there were such a thing as famous low prices, which there isn’t really, but I like to dream).

Take it away, Bill!

What a day we have planned for you if you happen to make it to Champion City this weekend. The very best comic vendors and dealers in the southwestern Ohio Valley will be attendance. A wide variety of books available through Wild Wolf Entertainment including the Daughter of Dracula and the brand new Adventures of Mr. Jigsaw trade paperback, both written by the Ron Fortier will also be on sale at the show..

And that’s just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I am very proud to say this show is virtually a Comic Related tour de force.

Just take a look at the list of the Comic Related family that will be in attendance at this show.

Chuck Moore
John Wilson
Brant Fowler
Bill Gladman
Raichal Gladman
Dustin Carson
Char Strohl
BJay Johnson
Chris Hoskins
Dave Arhar
Tim Hagans
Frank Raynor
Chris Metzger
Darren Mueller
Jackie Hernandez
Chad Lambert
Mike Watson
Victor Dandridge
Stephen Hines

In all over twenty comic creators will be there. Events including a costume contest, video game tournaments, magic tournaments, and who knows maybe a disc golf tournament if I can pull it all together before then! And a collectable program guide that features a comic inside produced by the guys behind Champion City and Main Street Comics and Games….Scott Riley and Bill Gladman with help from yet another true blue Comic Related member………Lisa Moore!

Special guest speakers all day long including Matt Smith, Chad Lambert, Dave Arhar, Victor Dandridge, Brian Miller, Andy McGinn, Dustin Carson and Chuck Moore!

And don’t forget our key event, the Darrel L. Buffington Memorial Auction taking place at 2:00 p.m. Vendors who have committed to donating to this event please bring the items you have mentioned to give to me at set up time.

Doors open to the public at 10:00 a.m and the show floor closes at 7:00 p.m, but gaming tournaments will continue on afterwards.

Other points of interest include an exclusive nation wide preview of an extended trailer for “Eyes of the Moth-Man.” We are fortunate enough to be the first location in the country to have this preview of the documentary of the same name at Champion City. The full length feature is currently scheduled for release December 2009.

And end the day right by catching Somewhere Between at McMurray’s Tavern just a few blocks from the con. The band goes on at 10:00 p.m and Mc Murray’s will be sponsoring yet another costume party. They will also have drinks of course but McMurray’s has some of the best pizza and subs available in the area as well.

Scott Riley and I with a great deal of help from Matt Smith, Andy McGinn and Jef Price wanted to make this convention the perfect counter balance to the Gem City show that comes to the Dayton area every spring. Jesse Noble and Bill Thade have been a great influence to us in regards to how to put on a high quality one day event and we hope between Gem City and Champion City everybody involved will be able to give the Dayton/Springfield area a great comic show to look forward to two times a year for many more years to come!

Hope to see you there!
